Indonesia has been promoted to Asia Cup Women Division A.

Following a dramatic game against Iran, Indonesia has been advanced to FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Division A for the first time since 1994. The game was won in the last seconds, with Iran reducing the difference to one point. Nathania Orville of Indonesia led the squad with 16 points, while Kim Pierre-Louis achieved another double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was significant since neither team had ever competed in Division A previously. Iran made only 39.5% of their efforts inside the arc, but their defending and ball movement were excellent. Indonesia will find out if they are ready for Division A play sooner than Iran, while Iran will recover and prepare for the next opportunity.
