BG Pathum United was successful in reaching the championship round following a 2-1 victory against Ratchaburi FC in the Revo Cup 2022/23 semifinals at PAT Stadium in Bangkok.
In the 15th minute, BG Pathum scored their first goal following a sustained attack in which Patrik Gustavson advanced into the penalty area, and took a beautiful loop shot that left the goalkeeper helpless. What a feat! The score now reads 1-0.
The ball was passed to Teerasil in the 17th minute, who set up a counterattack for BG. Stenio Junior attempted an off-target shot, but the score remained 1-0.
Ratchaburi had a chance in the 30th minute when Safawi Rasid had a good shot that struck the post but bounced back, giving Pathomchai Sueasakul the chance to easily touch the ball into an empty net to tie the game at 1-1.
Ratchaburi nearly took the lead in the 42nd minute when Moussa Sidibe made a counterattack, weaving through the BG Pathum players, and fired a shot on goal. The goalkeeper stopped the shot, but Kittipong Phuthaewchueak appeared to be nearby to kick the ball out for a throw-in.
A 1-1 tie marked the end of the first half.
Phithiwat Sukjitthammakul of BG Pathum provided a wonderful cross in the 63rd minute, allowing Teerasil Dangda to head the ball into the goal and give BG Pathum the lead. 2-1
As a result of the 2-1 victory, BG Pathum United will meet their longtime rival BURIRAM United in the REVO League Cup Final.
