KCCA Ladies’ Volleyball team is preparing for a crucial match against table leaders Ndejje Elites on Sunday in the National Volleyball League.
Despite being two points behind Ndejje and Sport-S ladies, KCCA coach Shilla Omuriwe Buyungo has emphasized that their focus is not on being at the top of the table, but on securing a spot in the playoffs.
“Our focus is making sure we make it to the playoffs, and then we start a different journey from there on,” said Buyungo. “For us, the key as we play each game is to focus and make sure we finish in the top four.”
The KCCA Ladies have been working hard to prepare for their upcoming game against Ndejje Elites, and Coach Buyungo has stressed the importance of respecting their opponents and executing their game plan consistently.
“It has nothing to do with whoever they’re [the girls] playing being at the top of the table or whatever position they’re in. I think what we are striving to do is for them to respect each team and come do what they are supposed to do to take care of that particular game,” said Buyungo.
The KCCA Ladies have a clear grasp of the significance of every match, and they will approach their upcoming Sunday clash with focused determination.
Their triumph in game week 16 against KCB Nkumba, with a decisive 3-0 victory, showcased their skill and tenacity on the field.
This win undoubtedly boosted their confidence and morale, positioning them well for the next challenge.
The Elites on the other hand in a highly anticipated match-up, emerged victorious over their formidable opponents, Sport-S, with a resounding 3-1 win.
This triumph not only secured their spot at the top of the table but also temporarily broke a longstanding 26-point tie, cementing their dominance in the league.
As the end of the regular season draws near, the KCCA team faces two crucial games against formidable opponents, Ndejje Elites and OBB.
These teams have proven to be worthy adversaries throughout the season, and KCCA will need to bring their A-game to the court, to secure a victory.
Coach Buyungo has placed significant emphasis on the team’s mental preparation and their ability to remain focused on their goals amidst the mounting pressure.
“We’ve worked on specific things, and the task for them is to come and execute them consistently. Respect Ndejje for where they’re at, but do their part for us to get the Win,” said Buyungo.
She also said her girls are determined to finish among the top four and are prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve their objective.
They approach each game with a single-minded focus on this goal, exhibiting unwavering commitment towards their vision.
Their sights are firmly set on clinching a spot in the playoffs, which they see as a stepping stone to a fresh start.
Other games in the women’s Serie A include OBB ladies taking on VVC on Saturday, while Espoir play KAVC on Sunday.
